If you have this supplement, Sanitas helps you in case of hospitalization, with a compensation for each day you spend hospitalized, in the following cases:

• Illness or accident requiring hospital care.
• Surgical intervention.

This way, you will only have to worry about your recovery, knowing that you will have help to meet the costs of hospitalization: companion meals, phone calls, transportation, domestic help, etc.

Regarding the amount, this amounts to daily sum* of 60 euros. However, Sanitas Renta also takes into account the following conditions and establishes that:

• If you stay in the intensive care unit (ICU), you will receive double your compensation.
• If the payment is made in a province other than your usual residence, you may receive 50% more compensation.
• Coverage for childbirth or cesarean section: single daily compensation of 6 days.
• Double compensation per day of admission if the expenses are not covered by Sanitas.
• We also offer a 50% convalescence benefit for the five days following surgical hospitalization.

(*) The daily compensation from Sanitas Renta will accrue from the first day of hospitalization and for the entire time the insured is listed as admitted to a hospital (clinic or sanatorium), until their documented hospital discharge, up to a maximum of 365 days.

Likewise, if within the period of twelve months following a hospitalization of the insured for which compensation has been accrued, the insured has to be readmitted to the hospital for the same reason, the new admission will be considered an extension of the previous one for the purposes of calculating the previously established limit of 365 days.
