Conditions for taking out Sanitas family insurance

The maximum age for taking out this Sanitas family insurance is 75 years old, and there is no maximum age for remaining insured. It is important to note that premiums may vary depending on the insured person’s place of residence.

Sanitas Más Salud Families takes pre-existing conditions into account: if you have any medical condition prior to taking out the insurance, the medical department will contact you to carry out an assessment.

You can get a 4% discount with the annual payment option.

Differences between Sanitas Mas Salud Families and Sanitas Mas Salud Family Plus

At Sanitas, we offer you the option of taking out Sanitas Más Salud Families insurance with or without copayments.

A copayment is an additional amount paid by the customer when using certain medical services, allowing insurance companies to offer lower premiums.

If you do not expect to use your Sanitas family insurance regularly, we recommend choosing the copayment option, Sanitas Más Salud Family Plus, whose prices are:

• From 0 to 6 services: €0.
• From 7 to 10 services: €4.
• From 11 to 15 services: €7.
• More than 15 services: €10.
• Dental supplement: €3.
• Single copayment of €12 for other services outside this structure

Waiting periods for Sanitas Mas Salud Families

Sanitas Mas Salud Families insurance includes a series of waiting periods. This means that from the moment your policy becomes active, you must wait a certain amount of time before using some medical services:

• Surgical procedures under outpatient healthcare: 3 months.
• Hospitalisation and non-outpatient surgical procedures requiring hospital admission: 10 months.
• Complex therapeutic methods: 10 months.
• Childbirth or caesarean section: 8 months.
• High-technology diagnostic tests: 6 months.
• Vasectomy and tubal ligation: 10 months.
• Psychology: 6 months.

If, at the time of taking out Sanitas insurance, you come from another insurance company in Spain where you had been insured for at least one year, you may be able to reduce or eliminate these waiting periods, except for childbirth coverage.
